Statement of Faith

Section 1 - Concerning the Holy Scriptures
We believe the entire Bible to be the verbally inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God
and God’s absolute authority for faith and practice. II Timothy 3:16-17.
Section 2 - Concerning the True God
We believe in one God, existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, coequal
and eternal. John 4:24, 14:9-10, 16-17; I Corinthians 8:6.
Section 3 - Concerning Creation & the Fall of Man
We believe that man was created in the image of God and that he sinned, thereby
bringing upon himself physical and spiritual death, which is separation from God.
Because of this violation of God’s purpose and law, all persons are now born with a
sinful nature. Genesis 3:1-6; Romans 3:12, 5:19.
Section 4 - Concerning Salvation by Grace through Faith
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Romans 5:20;
Ephesians 2:5-8.
Section 5 - Concerning the Virgin Birth
We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ. Matthew 1:19-25; Luke 1:35.
Section 6 - Concerning the Lord Jesus Christ
We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord Jesus Christ and His
ascension into heaven, and that He lives there as High Priest and Advocate for us.
Matthew 28:1-8; Hebrews 1:1-4.
Section 7 - Concerning Repentance & Faith
We believe that all who repent of their sins to follow Christ, receiving the gift of eternal
life by faith alone, are born into God’s family by the Holy Spirit. Luke 9:23; John 3:1-21;
Acts 20:21; Ephesians 2:8-9.
Section 8 - Concerning The Church
We believe that the church, often referred to as the Body of Christ, is comprised of all
Jesus’ followers, identified by the active presence of the Holy Spirit in their lives. This
“Body” must band itself together in local congregations for the purposes of evangelism,
discipleship, fellowship, service, and worship. Romans 8:9-17, 12:4-8; I Corinthians
12:12-27; Hebrews 10:25.
Section 9 - Concerning Salvation
We believe in the eternal blessedness of the saved and the eternal judgment of all who
remain in their sins, rejecting God’s offer of salvation through Jesus Christ. John 3:36;
Romans 8:14-17, 35-39; Revelation 20:15.
Section 10 - Concerning Future Events
We believe in the Blessed Hope, the personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus
Christ. John 14:1-6; Titus 2:11-14.
Section 11 - Separation of Church & State
We believe in the separation of church and state, meaning that the government has no role in determining or influencing the faith or practice of our religion. While the
government is responsible to maintain justice and protect rights, ultimate authority over our church fellowship is reserved for Jesus Christ, whose will is determined by the
careful study of God’s Word, the Bible, and Church Elders. Matthew 22:21; Mark
12:13-17; Luke 20:21-25; Romans 13:1-5; Ephesians 4:14-16; Hebrews 13:17.
Section 12 - Men & Women
We believe that God created both male and female in the image of God and that they
are equal in every aspect as to their humanity, being, and essence. In Christ, there is no male or female; both have equal standing before God. At the same time, the Bible
affirms that God has established distinctive roles for both male and female. In the
family, God has ordained that the male be both husband and father and carry out his
distinctive responsibilities, and that the female be both wife and mother and carry out
her distinctive responsibilities. The Scriptures declare that the husband is to be the
loving/leader of the home and that the wife is to be in subjection to her husband for the Lord's sake. The Scriptures also clearly indicate that the office of elder has been
entrusted to men, while at the same time affirming the absolute indispensability of
women's ministries. Genesis 1:27, 5:2, Galatians 3:28 Although there is equality in their standing before God, there is subordination in terms of "role" and "responsibility" as it relates to the home and in the church. Ephesians 5:21-33, Colossians 3:18-19, I Corinthians 11:3, I Timothy 2:11-15, 3:1-13, I Corinthians 14:33-34, Titus 2:3-5, Philippians 4:3, Euodia and Syntyche who stood by Paul's side in the Gospel, Acts 18:18-19 - the prominent ministry of Priscilla and Phoebe in Romans 16:1.
Section 13 - Homosexuality
Homosexuality Contrary to the increasingly accepted view of our fallen culture and the dishonest attempts to interpret it otherwise, the Bible consistently and unequivocally condemns the practice of homosexual relations. As with the rest of fallen humanity, homosexuals are in need of the redemption and forgiveness of sins that are made available through faith in Christ. However, as God's obedient children, we strive to manifest the love of Christ in the hopes of wooing them (as well as everyone else outside of Christ) to faith in Him. All are welcome to attend our services and hear the gospel message of freedom through Christ. We also condemn any hate crimes that have been perpetrated against human beings because of their lifestyle. Genesis 18-19, Leviticus 18:22, Romans 1:24-27, I Corinthians 6:9–11 makes it clear that God delivers the person from this and other wicked lifestyles- Luke 6:35, II Timothy 2:24-26, John 3:16.
Section 14 - Sanctity of Human Life
We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the
physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Psalm. 139.)
Section 15 - Racism
As the church of Jesus Christ, we vigorously condemn all forms of racism and ethnic
prejudice. We are all one body in Christ in which and in whom there is no difference. We do not discriminate among our membership on the basis of race, color, or ethnicity. Galatians 3:28, Ephesians 2:11-22, Acts 10:34-35.
